Advancements in Education

When I attended Evans Elementary School in the early 1970's it was supposed to be a state-of-the-art school with "Pods" where classrooms were arranged with dividers instead of walls. Think of a Dilbert-style cubicle and you will have an accurate picture of my 1st - 8th grade classrooms.

Duke iPodNow, there is this story that the prestigious Duke University has started its own "Pod" program.

iPods Enter Duke Classes
The entire Duke University class of 2008 received Apple iPod digital devices as part of a university initiative to encourage creative uses of technology in education and campus life. ...

I guess this brings new meaning to "an Apple for the teacher."

I wonder if this project will expand more than the elementary school experiment.

Last time I heard, Evans Elementary was now a middle school, and I think they have walls where the dividers used to be.
